Conducting Say “No” to Junta Businesses Online Awareness Campaign
On September 17, 2024, from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM (BKK time), the New Myanmar Foundation (NMF) conducted the “Say ‘No’ to Junta Businesses” online awareness campaign, attended by 20 participants. The campaign aimed to raise awareness about boycotting businesses tied to the Myanmar military junta, emphasizing the crippling of their financial networks and mobilizing global advocacy for sanctions. Key discussions focused on empowering the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) through economic resistance and advocating for international pressure.
The event highlighted challenges such as security risks and resource constraints for human rights defenders but stressed continued coordination with global organizations to dismantle the junta’s financial power. The session concluded with a unified call to action, reinforcing the participants’ commitment to supporting Myanmar’s democracy movement
