Conducting  Youths Awareness Session and International Youth Day On ground Campaign

On August 18, 2024, the New Myanmar Foundation (NMF) held a Youths Awareness Session and International Youth Day Campaign in the Sagaing Region, gathering 12 young participants to discuss their crucial role in Myanmar’s socio-political landscape, their rights, and the challenges they face amidst the ongoing crisis. NMF’s Executive Director, Dr. Sann Aung, delivered an opening speech emphasizing the importance of youth in shaping the nation’s future. 

The discussions highlighted the need for greater youth participation in all sectors, advocacy for their rights, and the recognition of their immediate value to society. Participants shared personal experiences of resilience during the crisis and voiced concerns over disrupted education, economic instability, mental health issues, and political exclusion. Despite these challenges, the event fostered solidarity, commitment to advocacy, and ideas for future initiatives, reinforcing the notion that youth are essential contributors to both the present and future of Myanmar.
