On December 10, 2023, the New Myanmar Foundation (NMF) and its partner organisation,Magway Region Human Rights Network (MHRN) ,  hosted a campaign to celebrate the 75th International Human Rights Day in Myanmar,  with the theme “Rise with the Waves of Freedom and Justice in Accordance with Human Dignity.” The event attracted a diverse group of residents, including children, and aimed to raise awareness about human rights, empower future generations, provide practical support to vulnerable individuals through nutrition donations, and foster a sense of community spirit. 

Activities included informative presentations, pamphlet distribution, a children’s painting competition focused on human rights themes, and donations of vital nutrition supplies to vulnerable individuals and families. These events successfully increased awareness of human rights, engaged children as future advocates, provided practical support to those in need, and fostered community unity. Despite challenges related to security and transportation, the campaign laid the groundwork for sustained human rights awareness and advocacy in Magway. Moving forward, ongoing awareness campaigns, strengthened partnerships, youth-focused programs, and tailored initiatives can build on the event’s success, contributing to a more just and equitable society in Magway and beyond.
