Operational Security Training Batch-1
On November 14, 2023, the New Myanmar Foundation conducted the first batch of Operational Security (OPSEC) Training, which aimed to enhance the digital security skills of 29 participants, including 18 females, 9 males, and 2 others from various sectors such as human rights activists and CSO members. The training was designed to help participants identify and mitigate digital security risks, adopt best practices, and protect sensitive information in their advocacy efforts, following needs identified through consultations with local partners. Facilitated by Trainer U Lwin Myint, the session included PowerPoint presentations, discussions, and experience sharing.
The participants’ feedback showed high satisfaction, with 71% rating the lessons as ‘very good’ and 67% expressing being ‘very satisfied’ with the course preparations. The training is expected to have long-term benefits such as increased awareness of information security, improved risk management skills, and strengthened organizational security culture, ultimately contributing to the effectiveness and safety of human rights work in Myanmar.
