Digital Literacy and Security Training (Batch 6)
The New Myanmar Foundation (NMF), with the support of Canada Embassy, conducted a five-day online Digital Literacy and Security Training (Batch 6) from December 5 to December 9, 2022, with 40 participants (13 males, 21 females, and 1 LGBT). This training aimed to empower advocates for democracy and human rights in Myanmar by enhancing their digital literacy and security skills. Through an interactive approach including pre-and post-tests, PowerPoint presentations, and participatory planning handouts, participants actively engaged in learning about operating systems, cyber security, internet functionality, VPNs, email services, Google applications, encrypted messaging apps, social media security, and website building.
Despite challenges such as internet connectivity issues and power outages, participants reported significant improvements in digital security knowledge, better information protection abilities, and increased efficiency in digital tasks. Post-training surveys confirmed these positive outcomes, with participants expressing satisfaction and acknowledging the practical benefits gained for their personal and professional lives.
Training Photos will not be posted due to the security consideration.
