Women and Land Ownership Rights Training (Batch-9)
On July 2, 2022, the New Myanmar Foundation (NMF) and Women Lead Resource Center (WLRC) organized an online training session titled “Training on Women and Land Rights (Batch-9)” with the objective of enhancing women’s land ownership and participation across various sectors. The session took place from 16:00 to 18:00 Thai Standard Time on Zoom, led by Daw Mya Nanda Thin as the lecturer and 16 participants attended. The event commenced at 16:00 hours with an opening speech by Dr. Sann Aung from the New Myanmar Foundation, who inaugurated the session.
Daw Mya Nandar Thin provided an overview of gender discrimination, CEDAW, and various forms of discrimination against women, followed by an extensive explanation of the national strategic plan for women’s development and women’s land ownership rights. Participants engaged in discussions on societal gender issues, health, and social support for women affected by conflict. Daw Mya Nanda Thin addressed questions from participants before concluding the session with expressions of gratitude at 18:00 hours.
