Digital Security Training (June 19, 2022)
On June 19, 2022, the New Myanmar Foundation (NMF), supported by FHI 360, conducted a Digital Security Training for 33 human rights defenders (19 males, 10 females, and 4 others) residing in the NMF safe house in Maesot, Thailand. The training aimed to educate participants on digital threats relevant to their advocacy work, provide practical skills in securing digital communications and data, and empower them to effectively manage digital security risks. Key topics included risk assessment, secure communication practices, data protection, device security, safe internet usage, and incident response protocols.
Participants actively engaged in practical exercises and discussions, applying learned skills to real-world scenarios. This initiative strengthened participants’ digital security awareness and capabilities, enhancing their safety and resilience in their human rights advocacy efforts within challenging environments.
