Election to be held soon is not free, fair nor inclusive. It is just a sham election. Political prisoners including Daw Aung San Suu Kyi are still under detention, daily airstrikes are killing innocent civilians, and no dialogue has been in place. In this context, it will just prolong the military rule and fan the civil war.
The people around the country including Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago regions and Shan, Karenni States have been demonstrating against the election.
We salute these brave hearts. We also appeal to the international community not to support or recognize but utterly denounce the election.
