Conducting International Girl Child Day Awareness Sharing
On October 11, 2024, the New Myanmar Foundation (NMF) conducted an International Day of the Girl Child Awareness Sharing Campaign via Zoom, attended by 23 participants, including survivors of conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV). The discussion focused on challenges girls face, especially in conflict-affected areas, such as sexual violence, lack of access to basic human rights, education, healthcare, and legal protection.
Participants highlighted issues of gender-based discrimination, insecure environments, and the absence of sex education. CRSV survivors shared personal experiences and emphasized the need for greater involvement in future campaigns and community-based activities. The event underscored the importance of ongoing advocacy for girls’ rights and protection from violence.
