Resilience Training (June 18, 2022)
In June 18, 2022, the New Myanmar Foundation (NMF), with the support of FHI 360, conducted a Resilience Training for 33 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and migrants at safe houses in Maesot, Thailand, consisting of 19 males, 10 females, and 4 others. The training aimed to enhance psychological resilience, provide stress and trauma management strategies, and foster a supportive community network. Over 18 hours of interactive lectures, group activities, mindfulness exercises, and practical role-plays, participants developed a deeper understanding of resilience, improved their mental well-being, and formed stronger community ties.
Despite challenges such as limited access to safe venues and psychological barriers, the training successfully equipped participants with essential coping strategies and fostered a supportive network, with recommendations for continued support and similar initiatives to further strengthen the resilience and well-being of IDPs and migrants in Maesot.
