Operational Security Training Batch-4
On February 14, 2024, the New Myanmar Foundation conducted the fourth Operational Security Training session, led by Mr. Lwin Myint, with 18 participants (6 males and 12 females) from human rights activism and civil society sectors. The training aimed to equip attendees with essential knowledge and skills to protect their digital information and operational security in the face of potential threats. Key topics included operational security concepts, best practices, and risk mitigation measures.
Through interactive discussions, participants addressed practical issues such as information compartmentalization and strategies for maintaining security under surveillance. The training successfully enhanced participants’ abilities to conduct human rights activities safely, with follow-up sessions planned to ensure sustained adoption of best practices. Despite a gender disparity (71% females), the session underscored the need for balanced representation in future initiatives. Participant feedback was largely positive, with 46% rating the lessons as “Exceptional” and 38% as “Extensive,” though some indicated areas for improvement.
