Our heartfelt congratulations are extended to Narges Mohammadi, an imprisoned Iranian women’s rights activist, who has been awarded the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran and for promoting human rights and freedom for all. This prestigious accolade not only recognizes her courage but also pays tribute to the endeavors of individuals in Burma and around the globe who are dedicated to advancing women’s rights and human rights.
In a similar vein, the 1991 Nobel Peace Prize was bestowed upon Aung San Suu Kyi, the leader of the people of Burma, in recognition of her non-violent struggle for democracy and human rights. This recognition has served as a driving force for the ongoing struggle for Burmese democracy and human rights, providing steadfast support to the pro-democracy activists led by Aung San Suu Kyi.
The fundamental principles of democracy, human rights, and women’s rights are universal entitlements for every human being. Furthermore, women’s rights, gender equality, and the complete eradication of all forms of violence against women are imperative for all communities across the globe. Our commitment remains unwavering until they are fully realized in Burma.
Under the current military regime, women in Burma have been experiencing the loss of their rights and enduring the oppressions of the military, including the excessive use of force, sexual violence, and unlawful killings. We vehemently condemn all these egregious violations and will pursue to bring accountability of the perpetrators.
Awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to those dedicated to human rights and women’s rights serves as a tremendous source of encouragement for all those engaged in this noble cause. Our unwavering determination to attain democracy and human rights remains steadfast. The military dictatorship, the primary obstacle to achieving democracy and human rights in Burma, will be wiped out, and we shall establish a federal union that guarantees democracy, and human rights, in unity with the entire Burmese populace.
In conclusion, we extend our deepest respect and admiration to all individuals who have tirelessly advocated and struggled for the advancement of democracy, and human rights in Burma. We also pay solemn tribute to the honorable individuals and martyrs who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the pursuit of democracy and freedom. We reaffirm our commitment, alongside the Burmese people, to continue tireless efforts to restore democracy, human rights, peace, and equality in Burma.
