Digital Security Training Batch-2

Digital Security Training Batch-2

On December 15, the New Myanmar Foundation hosted its second digital security training, attended by 34 human rights activists and civil society members. Facilitated by Mr. Christopher, the three-hour session focused on equipping participants with essential skills to safeguard their digital information and communications, covering online threats, encryption tools, and best practices for secure online behavior. The training aimed to bolster digital resilience among activists in Myanmar’s challenging environment. Participants actively engaged in discussions, sharing insights and real-world experiences on digital security incidents and strategies for overcoming online vulnerabilities. The structured agenda included introductions, two parts of digital security training, a discussion session, feedback collection, and a closing summary. The training successfully achieved its goal of capacity building, with participants gaining awareness, competencies, and tools to enhance their digital security practices. Post-training follow-ups and assessments will ensure sustained impact and guide future training improvements. The gender ratio was balanced, with 56% female and 44% male participants, emphasizing inclusivity. Participant feedback indicated high satisfaction, with 65% rating the lessons as “Very Good” and 55% expressing “Very Satisfied” with the course preparations. This report underscores the successful execution of the Digital Security Training Batch 2 and its role in enhancing digital resilience among human rights defenders in Myanmar.
